Roberto Cavalli was born in Florence in 1940 and he was the grandson of the painter Giuseppe Rossi, a leading exponent of the Macchiaioli artistic movement. Cavalli graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and soon after that he started a printing house, patenting an innovative method for printing on leather. At the beginning of the 70s, with the presentation of his avant-garde collection, a long journey into the world of entrepreneurship and fashion began, destined to last more than half a century: Roberto Cavalli becomes famous for his animal prints and the New York Times crowns him the king of “animal” clothes. Roberto Cavalli puts the most refined and delicate craftsmanship to the forefront offering luxury items that embed a real philosophy of life: if you wear Cavalli it’s obvious you know how to have fun.
